Thank God For Critics
They told me I was unmarketable
That there just wasn't a place for me
In the music industry.
Depression and darkness took over
Until I discovered this neat thing called YouTube.
An accepting place for everyone
I posted my first music video
And more videos, and more videos.
People were actually liking my content
They made me strive to make better videos.
It wasn't until first dubstep video went viral
And all my videos got millions of views.
I was able to get signed to a label and go on tour
This was all still so shocking for me
Nonetheless, I am still so grateful
This is for those who didn't believe in me
From the very beginning.
Your criticism made me stronger
And now I'm here, living my dream.
That there just wasn't a place for me
In the music industry.

The poem is told in Lindsey Stirling's point of view and describes how without critics she wouldn't have had the drive to continue her path toward being known. Reading and watching interviews of Lindsey Stirling helped me catch her emotions toward being rejected and feelings toward YouTube.
